basil lemonade

Basil...lemonade? Sounds...

interesting.

But, seriously, you all. This stuff actually will blow your mind.

It's simple.

What could be simpler than combining a few magical ingredients in a blender and pushing start?

It's healthy.

Lemon juice is super good for you. I'm sure basil is good for you (I mean, it's all green and leafy). And it's got a low sugar content. Perfect summery hydration!

It's delicious.

I know basil lemonade sounds weird. But you should really just try it. You might be surprised.

Basil Lemonade

Serves: 2

  • 1/3 cup lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons)
  • 1/3 cup agave*
  • 8-10 basil leaves
  • 1 1/2 cups water (separated)

Place lemon juice, agave, basil leaves, and 1/2 cup water in the blender. Let it blend for about one minute, until there are no more chunks of basil. Add in the last 1 cup of water and mix to combine. Serve with ice!

Notes:

*You can use maple syrup, if you want--it won't taste mapley with all the basil and lemon going on. Or you can use 1/4 cup sugar.

Enjoy!
