C A L I F O R N I A (part 3)
It’s been so lovely here. We rented a house, and the grandparents came to stay the week with us. We slept in, made big breakfasts, chilled, refined our foosball and ping pong skills, and went hiking, kyaking, exploring, and cycling. What could possibly be better?
At one point we came across a whole field of purple lupine flowers, and I ran all the way back to the car to get my camera, because how can you not photograph something so gorgeous??
On our last day, my dad took me and my sis on a little cycling trip down to Squaw Valley (where the 1960 Olympics were held). From downtown Tahoe City to Squaw Valley and back, we enjoyed a gorgeous 18 mile ride that actually kind of pushed me physically, because I’m really not a cyclist.

Thanks to that app called Find Me Gluten Free, I tracked down this bakery in Tahoe City that offers gluten free goods. And they were so. good. I got a lemon cookie, snagged a local newspaper, made an iced latte, and sat down on the couch to watch Poldark (when are they coming out with the next season??). It was vacationing at its best.
After Tahoe, we drove a few hours up to Etna, CA to JH Ranch, where my sister and I will spend two weeks of camp. This place is amazing. So amazing that my two older brothers are volunteering there all summer, actually. So when my parents dropped us off, it was a big family reunion.
There will for sure be an update when I get back from camp with pictures and stories, but for now here are a few pics I snapped with my phone when we first got here.
See you all in two weeks!
